Board forwards 14 policy revisions for public hearing, approves contract, financial report and revised school calendar

2026–27 calendar revision and Boomerang transition day: The board approved a district calendar revision to make the first day of school a dedicated transition day for rising sixth‑ and ninth‑grade students to participate in a peer‑mentoring program (Boomerang/Link Leaders). To accommodate that day the district will remove the January 4 in‑service day. Staff said the program will train link leaders in August and use small peer groups and ongoing check‑ins through the year. The motion passed by roll call.
