The Sylvania Schools Board moved through a set of routine consent items Wednesday evening and approved minutes, the treasurer’s report, and several personnel and contract items by roll call.
Treasurer Adam provided the financial update for the period ending April 30, 2026, reporting revenues slightly above forecast due to increased reimbursements and otherwise in line with projections. The board then approved consent items 4.1–4.3 (minutes of prior meetings, the treasurer’s report, and veil of funds) on a motion moved by a committee member and seconded by the moderator.
Doctor Motley recommended item 5.1: two overnight field trips — Northview cross country to Traverse City and Northview High School football to Triune University. Speaker 4 moved approval; the board approved the field trips by roll call.
Staff recommended items 6.1 and 6.2 on a consent basis. Item 6.1 listed licensed retire rehires (Kevin Danzizon; Tammy Garrison; Bridget Plyakowski; Amy Schlegel) and 6.2 covered licensed extra-duty assignments; both items were approved. The board then approved classified personnel items 7.1–7.3 (classified resignation, classified termination, classified personnel changes) on a single consent motion.
Finally, the board approved items 8.1 and 8.2: licensed and non-teaching pupil activity contracts for the 2026–27 school year and athletic volunteers for 2026–27. The motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the transcript and approved by roll call.
All consent-agenda motions were approved with unanimous roll-call responses recorded in the meeting transcript. Board members then offered routine reports before adjourning the meeting.
