Belleville Historical Society names two Walk of Fame inductees; improvement group donates police sign rendering

The Belleville Historical Society told the City Council on May 18 that Jacob Brocious and Henry Robb will be added to the Walk of Fame for the class of 2026. Larry Betts, president of the historical society, summarized Brocious's and Robb's contributions to local industry, education and civic life and invited the public to an induction ceremony on Oct. 24, 2026 on the square.
Earlier in the meeting, representatives of the Belleville Improvement Group presented a donation to the police department to support one of the signs the group has requested; a rendering of a speed‑monitor sign was shared with the council.
The council moved to accept the two Walk of Fame inductees and approved the presentation; motions carried by voice vote.
