At its May 15 meeting in Girard, the Crawford County Board of Commissioners scheduled a work session on May 19 to review departmental budgets and discussed follow-up on several administrative items.
County Clerk Lisa Lusker said staff would reach out to Bukaty to arrange a work session in the next month so the firm could address items the board and County Counselor Jim Emerson want to review. Lusker also reminded department heads that budgets were due that day and that some of the larger budgets had not yet been submitted; she asked to have materials ready by Tuesday for presentation to the board.
On old business, Commissioner Bruce Blair reported a miscommunication with Sonny of Brisbin Trucking regarding dust-control contracts. Blair said Sonny did not realize contracts had been sent to participants on the list; Blair asked that once contracts are returned Road and Bridge begin preparation work. Commissioner Carl Wood agreed to extend the deadline, saying first-year issues were expected and staff should allow additional time.
Commissioners also noted a lay-down machine used for road work was out of service because of a sensor problem; staff reported they are working on repairs but no timeline was provided.
EMS Director Michael Burnett requested a 15-minute executive session to discuss non-elected personnel; on motion (26-235) the board recessed to closed session from 10:14 AM until 10:29 AM and reconvened with no public action reported.
The board approved routine minutes and vouchers on the consent agenda and adjourned at 10:37 AM.
Actions recorded in the meeting include approval of the consent agenda (motion 26-234) and the executive-session motion (26-235); several previously presented motions (26-231, 26-232, 26-233) were filed for signatures as part of the minutes.
