Argyle ISD honors two departing trustees and installs new officers

The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees opened its May 18 meeting by recognizing two long-serving trustees for their years of service and leadership and then moved to reorganize board officers.
District staff and board members paid tribute to trustees who began serving in 2014 and 2017, highlighting enrollment growth, new campuses and extracurricular achievements during their tenures. "You've helped guide Argyle ISD through extraordinary growth and achievement," a district presenter said during the tribute.
After a brief recess for presentations and photographs, the board returned to reorganize. Nominations were taken for president, vice president and secretary. The board voted on competing nominations: one president nomination was advanced and the trustees conducted voice and hand votes for various officer positions. A recorded vote on one contested nomination passed 4–3. Leona McDade was elected vice president after a motion and opposed votes were noted during the roll call for that office.
The meeting then proceeded with the agenda, including construction updates and routine consent items. The installation of newly elected trustees for Places 1, 2 and 3 (Justin Ford, Leon Arthur and Frank Dixon) was administered at the meeting.
