Miss Weatherly, the town’s cultural affairs and special events coordinator, presented two consent requests from the Nantucket public schools and asked the commission to approve them. She said the high-school rock band requested a June 9 concert at the bandstand from 6 to 7 p.m. with about 13 students, and the middle-school band requested June 17 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Weatherly said there would be no food sold or served at either event. The commission took the items together, moved to approve both concerts and recorded a unanimous voice vote in favor.
The approvals were recorded as consent items; staff will place the concerts on the town calendar and coordinate any necessary logistics with the schools.
