He described additional grant pursuit to fund engineering for prioritized areas and pollution‑reduction work informed by stormwater testing at Summit Lane, Pine Tree and Landerwood Plaza corridors.
Don said the city will manage construction and that the regional partner approved the design; the partner will provide the funds for the full project and the city will handle construction oversight. Council discussed schedule and the mayor noted this program has contributed multiple millions toward past waterline replacements.
No final contract award was recorded during the meeting; staff requested authorization to proceed with advertising and anticipated returning to council for contract award.
