Julie Ramsdale was sworn in as a new member of the Guymon parks board during the meeting. A staff member introduced her to the assembled board, saying, “For anyone who does not know her yet, this is miss Julie Ramsdale, And this is Ginger Clevenger and Maria. She does our video.”
The swearing and signing of the oath followed the introduction. After the oath, Ramsdale moved to approve the minutes from Jan. 15, saying, “I make a motion that way you approve the minutes.” The motion was seconded and recorded as approved, with Beasley, Johnson and Hernandez Campos voting aye and one member absent.
Staff used the meeting to provide several administrative updates. A staff member said Shannon asked that the new member be introduced and noted that George was absent on vacation. Staff also told members to expect agenda packets and calendar invites, and said they would begin sending monthly email reminders. Members were instructed to submit items they want discussed through the regular agenda-review process so items can be placed on a future agenda.
The staff member announced that members are required to attend Open Meetings Law (OML) training, with a fall session noted for September 23 that "ends at 06:00," and reiterated that the next board meeting is scheduled for July 16. Board member Ginger Clevenger said she was looking forward to working with the group, stating, “I am just super excited.”
The chair closed the meeting and announced adjournment at 05:37.
