Taylor students, coaches highlight swim team’s growth and academic success

Coach Jason said the boys and girls teams have seen increasing participation over four years and reported several winning seasons; he noted the team average GPA is about 3.5 and that multiple swimmers have earned academic honors from their conference and national associations. Students including Jared Snyder and Alex McNett described swimming’s benefits for confidence, discipline and non‑contact athletic involvement; a parent and program participants also praised the co‑op with Huron and other Downriver League schools for expanding opportunities.
Board members congratulated the team and acknowledged the program’s role in supporting students academically and socially. The board invited participants to return and collect recognition cards.
