The Taylor School District Board of Education voted to approve a three‑year lease with the Taylor Seahawks Little League covering use of Kennedy Football Field, with automatic one‑year renewals after the initial term.
Superintendent administration told the board the written contract formalizes a longstanding but previously verbal partnership and secures multi‑year scheduling certainty for the Seahawks. The administration said the Seahawks will be responsible for mowing and routine upkeep; the district retains priority use for school activities and will handle field striping as part of the lease terms. A Seahawks representative (Paul Arquette) has signed the Seahawks’ portion of the agreement and awaits an official district vote to authorize the superintendent to sign on the district’s behalf.
Public comment included scheduling questions from residents and local boosters about how the Seahawks’ practices would be coordinated with high school activities and whether alternate district fields could be used. The superintendent said athletic staff have discussed scheduling and would coordinate resources if renovations or conflicts arise.
The motion passed on a recorded vote of 6–0.
