An update on Iowa 250 planning was provided, including collaboration with Muscatine County on historical signage.
Supervisor Daniel A. Srp reported on participation in a webinar from the Iowa State Association of Counties about PFAS‑related litigation involving firefighting foam contamination; the board discussed potential local concerns about 3M contamination in eastern Clinton County and plans to share information with local jurisdictions and fire departments for evaluation. Srp also provided a brief update regarding a recent county cybersecurity incident and said forensic review is ongoing in coordination with IT staff, the County Attorney and ICAP; meeting minutes credit county systems with preventing more significant disruption.
Human Resources recognized employees celebrating service anniversaries in May (Chris Sivright, 25 years; Latisha Hart, 5 years; Jared Cannon, 1 year; Shelby Wilkie, 1 year) and reminded staff that health‑insurance enrollment is passive unless enrolling in a Flexible Spending Account, which requires annual reenrollment. Conservation staff reported Mississippi River floodwaters have significantly receded and that Rock Creek facilities are expected to reopen soon as seasonal maintenance and dock installation continue.
