On Nov. 28 the Gage County Board of Supervisors voted to hire Galen Engel as the Gage County Highway Superintendent with a starting salary of $59,000. The motion passed unanimously.
The board and county staff had discussed road projects, right-of-way work and NDOR agreements in prior meetings. The new superintendent will manage county highway operations, coordinate NDOR-funded projects approved during 2012, and supervise procurement and capital work related to the county’s One & Six Year plan.
