Clinton County supervisors approve personnel changes, Home Base Iowa award and holiday schedule

The Clinton County Board of Supervisors on May 4 approved multiple administrative resolutions covering employee pay, title changes, a veterans’ incentive payment and the county holiday calendar.
The board unanimously approved Resolution 2026‑90 to set Isaac Johnson’s hourly rate at $25.59 as a full‑time Patrol Operator (M‑07), effective April 20, 2026, and authorized the County Auditor to issue biweekly paychecks from the Secondary Road Fund. The board also approved Resolution 2026‑91 to change Adam Assenmacher’s position from Truck Driver to Patrol Operator with an hourly rate of $28.49 for the DeWitt shed, and Resolution 2026‑92 setting Isaac Johnson’s rate at $25.79 for the Delmar shed as stated in the resolution documents; each resolution passed on a 3‑0 roll call (Irwin, George and Srp voting yes).
Under Resolution 2026‑93 the board approved a $1,500 Home Base Iowa reimbursement to Antonio B. Alfaro for qualified home‑purchase closing costs, payable from the General Basic Miscellaneous Fund.
The board also approved two Conservation Department personnel actions. Resolution 2026‑94 renames Maintenance Worker II to Conservation Technician and Maintenance Worker III to Senior Conservation Technician to better align titles with duties, effective July 1, 2026. Resolution 2026‑95 changes Allen Ketelesen’s title from Maintenance Worker to Maintenance Technician effective July 1, 2026, and directs county wage adjustments according to the Clinton County Compensation Policy. Each conservation resolution passed on a 3‑0 roll call.
Finally, the board approved Resolution 2026‑96 setting official county holidays for the second half of fiscal year 2027: New Year’s Day (Jan. 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 18), Good Friday (March 26) and Memorial Day (May 31). The resolution notes the Sheriff’s Office should refer to its bargaining unit agreement for holiday scheduling.
All votes recorded in the meeting minutes show roll call results of Irwin: Yes; George: Yes; Srp: Yes. The board adjourned and set its next meeting for May 11, 2026.
