Christian County commissioners approved an amendment to the county’s IT support agreement with Pitt Technology Group to reduce contracted after‑hours support from 16 to 8 hours per month.
Rollins, the county IT presenter, recapped the county’s contract history with Pitt Technology and said the vendor and county agreed the reduced hours reflect the county’s growing in‑house capacity. “So that's a $9,600 savings a year,” Rollins said when summarizing the budget impact.
Commissioners expressed support for bringing IT services in‑house and for keeping Pitt Technology available as a backup for major server issues. A motion to approve the amendment was made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
Staff said the change is intended to control costs while preserving an after‑hours fallback; the county will continue monitoring support needs and may adjust future contracts if demand rises.
