Throughout 2012 the Gage County Board of Supervisors advanced a suite of transportation projects with formal agreements and procurement decisions tied to the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR).
Major actions included supplemental project agreements and engineering services approvals (several ‘‘Supplemental Project Program Agreements’’), adopting the county One & Six Year Highway Improvement Plan and authorizing fracture-critical bridge inspection agreements. At the Sept. 19 meeting the board concurred with the low-bid selection for a bridge replacement (NDOR Project BR-3265(5), Structure M268502915) and authorized the chairman to sign a contract with Simon Contractors & Subsidiaries (bid $1,238,871.94). The board also approved an On-Call Environmental Services Agreement with Olsson Associates for the Adams Northwest project (BRO-7034(18)).
Board members said the actions were necessary steps to secure federal-aid funding, meet inspection obligations, and move design and right-of-way processes forward. The board recorded unanimous votes on the NDOR-related resolutions cited in the minutes.
