Christian County approves $12,000 MoDOT-backed sign-inventory contract with Olsen

The Christian County Commission on May 21 approved hiring Olsen to perform a countywide sign inventory under a $12,000 traffic‑engineering assistance grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).
Grant, the presenter, told the commission the award is part of MoDOT’s traffic engineering assistance program and that Olsen is a qualified consultant. “We received grama for $12,000 to do a county wide sign inventory,” Grant said, recommending the county hire Olsen to do the work.
Presiding Commissioner Newmark asked for a motion to approve the contract; the commission moved, seconded and approved the item by voice vote. The contract is billed as an annual engineering service engagement and MoDOT qualification documentation was described as in order.
The decision followed a short question-and-answer period and signatures will be collected after the meeting. The county’s highway department will oversee the work and return with any follow-up reports as needed.
