Maumee introduces newest police officer, Scott Kefaber

Council and staff introduced Scott Kefaber at the start of the meeting. A presenter (speaker 11) told council Kefaber grew up locally, graduated from Ottawa Hills High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo before pursuing law enforcement. Staff explained Kefaber completed background and academy steps on a delayed schedule and will undergo about 2–3 weeks of onboarding followed by roughly 20 weeks in the field training officer (FTO) program prior to independent patrol assignment.
Mayor and council members welcomed Kefaber and wished him well as he completes training. The introduction was a ceremonial acknowledgment on the agenda under petitions and communications.
