A town representative said the stocking permit for two new fire stations was received May 15 and furniture deliveries have begun; staff expects temporary certificates of occupancy by the end of the month and planned occupation by June 6. "We'll occupy our 2 new buildings by June 6 and that is coming really quick," the speaker said.
Council also approved an interlocal training agreement that expands observational ride‑along opportunities with Palm Beach Gardens as part of the summer training program for new hires. "We wanted to incorporate this inside the program... to get a glimpse of what that looks like," Deputy Fire Chief Steve Shaw said, describing the ride‑along as observational training before the department begins running calls.
The town manager previewed ceremonial events tied to the staffing and station openings: a firefighter oath of office on June 1 and ribbon‑cutting events for JFRD Station No. 10 and Station No. 12 in early June.
