Airport reports higher fuel sales, FBO renovation progress and taxilane construction

Airport Manager Erica Burkemper reported April 9 that both March and April saw increased fuel sales and higher overall revenue for Daviess County Airport. She said renovations at the fixed-base operator (FBO) are nearly complete and staff will prepare the area for a scheduled PSOARS visit in May.
Burkemper also reported airport vehicles sustained hail damage in the March 22 storms and that she is working with the insurance company on repair options and coverage. The board reviewed financial claims and records and raised no questions.
Woolpert representative Nick Kowalkowski provided the engineering update: construction on the taxilane continued April 6, and subgrade adjustments were needed for the access road. Kowalkowski said paving was scheduled for the week of April 6 for the taxilane, with the access road to follow several days later; seeding and strawing were planned within about a week after paving.
Board members did not set additional deadlines for the FBO renovation or repairs; Burkemper will report progress at future meetings.
