District 6 school board member highlights A rating, local student wins and says SROs unchanged in Davie

Adam Cerver, the Broward County School Board member for District 6, presented a summary of district and local‑school accomplishments to the Davie Town Council, citing two consecutive A ratings from the state, improvements in graduation rates and numerous student awards across Davie schools.

Cerver reported that no Broward schools received a D or F rating and that traditional high schools have a 97.5% graduation rate; he highlighted district recognition for advanced‑placement and dual‑enrollment programs, success in statewide competitions and multiple perfect test scores at Silver Ridge Elementary School. He also touted Cambridge and ACE program achievements at several local schools and senior awards and recognitions at Western High School.

Several council members used the opportunity to press on school resource officers (SROs). One council member urged the school board to keep SRO programs in Davie schools; Cerver replied, “I am happy to report that as I stand before you today, there has been no change in any of the criteria for any of our SROs in any of our schools.”
