Council, acting as 9-1-1 board, adopts emergency communications district budgets
Summary
The council, acting in its capacity as the Emergency Communications District board, adopted a retroactive amended 2024 budget and the fiscal 2025 budget for the Oak Ridge Emergency Communications District by roll-call vote, as requested by the comptroller. Both resolutions passed 6–0.
At the June 3 meeting, the Oak Ridge City Council convened as the Emergency Communications (9-1-1) District board and approved two resolutions: a retroactive adoption of the amended fiscal 2024 Emergency Communications District budget and adoption of the fiscal 2025 Emergency Communications District budget.
The clerk explained the action was taken at the direction of the comptroller. The board conducted roll-call votes on both resolutions; the clerk recorded six ayes and no nays. One member later asked whether the action would need to be repeated at a January meeting; staff replied it would not because the district board and the council are identical for this purpose.
The resolutions were adopted without debate or recorded opposition.
