Village reports water repairs, new meter pit and staffing changes; board approves vouchers

The DPW report for April listed several water leaks and tap work, chip‑and‑brush pickups, maintenance at Mosier Park and mowing. Board members said the DPW installed a 10‑inch meter pit at the end of Willis Avenue. "We installed a 10 inch meter pit at the end of Willis Avenue," the moderator reported.
The building department is transitioning staff: Joe Burns is in his last week and a new part‑time inspector, Eric Wollum, has started work and has been handling permits and inspections. "Our new part time inspector, Eric Wollum, is stepping up nicely," the moderator said.
A trustee moved to pay audited bills for abstract 12‑2‑26, vouchers 12‑29 through 12‑62, in the amount of $72,303.69; another member seconded the motion and the board indicated assent. The clerk and moderator noted budget transfers are being processed for the new fiscal year and the documents are available for public review in the office.
Board members also urged residents to maintain lawns, warning that the code enforcer will issue tickets and fines for overgrown properties, and announced community items including lifeguard hiring and planning for the village's 250th celebration. The clerk announced the next planning/zoning meeting on June 22, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn.
