The DeSoto County Board of Adjustment on Jan. 12 tabled a variance request from applicant Adam Whisenant to allow an accessory building in the designated front yard at 2331 Oak Creek Drive.
Staff presented the application (VAR-001913-2025) and noted Whisenant was unable to attend the meeting. Board member Mike Hancock moved to table the item until the Feb. 9, 2026 meeting; Chair Ben Boren seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The variance sought relief under the DeSoto County Zoning Ordinance to permit an accessory structure in the designated front yard. The board did not take substantive action on the merits; the item was continued to permit applicant attendance and further review.
According to staff, appeals of decisions heard at the meeting must be filed by Jan. 22, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. for Board of Supervisors review on Feb. 17, 2026.
