Elk County commissioners approve routine contracts, fund allocations and event permits

The board voted to approve a $7,980 contract with Daghir Construction to install a bullet‑resistant window in the Domestic Relations front office; the minutes state this purchase is eligible for 100% reimbursement from the Domestic Relations incentive account. Commissioners also ratified a $1,980.34 repair contract with Anderson Fencing to fix county property damaged by a third party; according to the minutes the county has already been fully reimbursed by the responsible party.
Commissioners approved an allocation of $7,500 in Liquid Fuel funds, split to support 2A stone purchases for Jones Township and Millstone Township. The board also approved veterans' burial benefits covering six veteran burials, four spouse burials and three headstones.
The board granted Elk County Ecumenical use of the Courthouse lawn for an Ice Cream Social on June 26, 2026, and for a Glmy Bound Music Festival from August 1–14, 2026, and approved Ridgway Fire Department event requests and multiple banners to be placed on the Courthouse lawn for summer events. All motions recorded in the minutes carried unanimously.
