Board selects Janice Henry to fill District 3 school-board vacancy

Board members questioned each candidate about availability for meetings, financial oversight and knowledge of Act 1 (state law). Both candidates said they planned to run for the seat in November regardless of the night's outcome and said they could attend meetings and serve in the role.
Board members then cast votes by slip. The chair read individual slips and announced that eight slips were cast for Janice Henry; the chair signaled that number met the selection threshold and the special meeting concluded.
