Greene County commissioners unanimously approve consent items including grants, proclamations and a Jamestown water-main CIG
Summary
At its May 7 meeting the Board of Greene County Commissioners unanimously approved routine resolutions: vouchers, travel/training, appropriation transfers, two proclamations, closure of inactive funds, a $31,150 Community Improvement Grant to Jamestown for a water-main project, a replat, a VOCA amendment, a small surplus sale, and a $990 youth services grant.
The Board of Greene County Commissioners on May 7 voted unanimously to approve a series of routine resolutions and agreements covering county finances, proclamations, grants and land records.
Among the approvals were Resolution 26-5-7-1 (vouchers), 26-5-7-2 (travel/training expenses), and 26-5-7-3 (transfer of appropriations); commissioners voted aye in each roll call. The board also adopted Resolution 26-5-7-4 proclaiming May 7, 2026, as a National Day of Prayer and Resolution 26-5-7-5 designating May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 11–17 as National Police Week; both proclamations passed on unanimous roll call votes.
Administrative and grant actions included Resolution 26-5-7-6, authorizing the County Auditor to close inactive funds with no activity for at least three years; Resolution 26-5-7-7, approving a Community Improvement Grant (CIG) of $31,150 for the Village of Jamestown for a water-main replacement project and authorizing the County Administrator to sign related documents; Resolution 26-5-7-8, approving an amendment to the FY2026 VOCA grant to reallocate Juvenile Court expenses; and Resolution 26-5-7-9, approving a replat of Lots 5–8 of The Conservancy Subdivision to create Lot 8-A and Lot 5-B. The board also declared a retiring Deputy Robert Rickels’ service weapon surplus and authorized its private sale under the bargaining-unit contract for $651.55 (Resolution 26-5-7-13) and accepted a $990 Greene Giving Foundation grant for Juvenile Court furnishing a trauma-informed space (Resolution 26-5-7-14). All motions were moved and seconded (typically by Commissioner Sarah J. Mays and Commissioner Richard D. Gould) and passed by roll call: Koogler—Aye, Mays—Aye, Gould—Aye.
Most items were considered on the consent/business portion of the meeting and passed without debate. The approvals permit the County Administrator and department heads to carry out the specified projects and grant uses under the terms approved by the board.
