Monroe County commissioners approve $9.13 million claims docket and several contract items; votes unanimous

The board approved a repair contract for the Showers Building cooling-tower control panel. The proposal, identified in the record as Harrow Fish Incorporated, was for $8,775 (Fund 4815, Geobond). Staff introduced the request and the board approved the contract by voice vote, 3–0.
Staff also presented Resolution 2026-20 to adjust the schedule for highway bid openings; Cockrell said the bid opening will be held June 4. The board approved the resolution by voice vote, 3–0.
Finally, the board approved INDOT Amendment No. 1 to the pedestrian flashing beacons project to align contract amounts with INDOT allocations. County staff said the total project cost is $301,526.58 and that INDOT will fund 90% of that cost; staff noted an upcoming ADA change order that INDOT will also fund at 90%. The amendment passed by voice vote, 3–0.
All votes listed in the meeting record were voice votes and recorded as "aye," resulting in unanimous 3–0 outcomes for the items above.
