Franklin County commissioners on April 20 accepted Rogers Group, Inc.'s low bid of $916,068.48 for a Rebuild AL resurfacing project covering four county road segments: Hwy 177, Bates Landing Road, Whitten Road and Pritchard Road.
County Engineer Jason Baggett reported bids were opened April 15; three bids were received and Rogers Group submitted the low responsive bid. The board approved the recommendation to award the contract to Rogers Group and directed staff to prepare contract documents and schedule a preconstruction meeting.
The official bid tabulation in the packet shows itemized prices for hot‑mix asphalt, crushed aggregate base, traffic striping and markings. The project will proceed under county management and scheduled construction will follow the formal contract execution and preconstruction coordination.
Why it matters: The work will resurface and restripe several county roads, improving pavement condition and ride quality. The award commits county funds and a vendor schedule; staff will manage contract oversight and construction engineering.
Next steps: The Commission will execute the contract and Rogers Group and county staff will attend a preconstruction meeting to finalize schedule and mobilization. Bid bonds and required contract documents will be collected from the successful bidder prior to award.
