Acting Chairman Jim Foley presided as the City of Gretna Planning Commission on March 24, 2026 approved the annexation of several Sarpy County parcels adjacent to the city.
City Attorney Jeff Miller presented staff comments on the request to annex Tax Lot 8, Tax Lot 9, Appleseed Acre Lot 1 and Outlot A (legal descriptions on the record). Acting Chairman Jim Foley opened the public hearing; no members of the public spoke for or against the annexation. Commissioner Amanda Nutter moved to approve the annexation; Dustin Kowaleski seconded the motion and the commission voted unanimously to approve.
The annexation ordinance as approved includes the described parcels in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 1, Township 13 North, Range 10 East of the 6th P.M., and the Southeast 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 36, Township 14 North, Range 10 East of the 6th P.M., Sarpy County, Nebraska, together with the public streets and public rights-of-way within the annexed areas. The action will extend the city’s municipal boundaries to encompass those lots; the record does not specify an effective date beyond the commission’s approval.
The commission set its next regular meeting for April 28, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
