Northwest ISD trustees elect board officers; nominations approve trustee assignments

The Northwest Independent School District Board of Trustees completed its annual organization and officer elections at the regular meeting.
The nominating committee presented a slate of officers and trustee assignments. Mr. Schluter moved to nominate Jennifer Murphy for board president; Mr. Sproles seconded the motion, and trustees approved the nomination. The board then considered nominations for vice president, secretary and several trustee representative roles on external bodies and foundations, including TASB delegate assembly, the Fort Worth Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2 board, the North Texas Council of Governments general assembly, and the Northwest Education Foundation.
Dr. Lillian Rausch was nominated for vice president and Mrs. Judy Cobb for secretary; motions to approve committee recommendations carried. The board also authorized designations for delegates and alternates for the 2026 TASB Delegate Assembly and other external committees, naming Mr. Jeff Dearing and others as recommended by the nominating committee.
Several motions were approved with votes recorded as either unanimous 6–0 or recorded as 5–0 with one trustee abstaining on specified items where the trustee disclosed an employment relationship with the partner organization. The board president thanked the nominating committee for the work.
The board will not redraw seating at this meeting and will retain current seating arrangements for the term.
