Planning staff told the Westminster Planning Commission on May 20 that Richard A. Rojas Jr. began work yesterday as the new permanent Director of Community Development, replacing interim director Steven Mendoza. Staff said this is the first full-time director in about two years.
Staff also previewed the commission and council calendars: the commission will hear another conditional use permit on June 3 (a proposed pickleball business), and staff announced that the first planning commission meeting in July (July 1) will be canceled because it is close to the holiday. Staff reminded the commission that the City Council will hear two appeals on June 10: an appeal of the Articraft warehouse approval filed by a citizens group and a council review of the Willow Lane project.
Staff made these announcements near the end of the May 20 meeting as informational items; no formal action was taken on these matters at the commission meeting.
