Council Member Phil Carter gave the invocation and Mayor Partin led the Pledge of Allegiance. The council then moved into executive session to discuss an employment matter identified in the agenda as "City Manager Position Interviews." Council Member Hunter Sox moved to enter executive session, Council Member Phil Carter seconded, and the motion was approved unanimously by roll call.
After the executive session concluded, Mayor Pro Tem Tim James moved to reconvene the regular meeting; Council Member Byron Thomas seconded and the motion was approved unanimously. Mayor Partin announced that no vote was taken in executive session other than to adjourn and resume the regular meeting. The council subsequently approved a motion to adjourn, again by unanimous roll call, and the meeting ended at 5:38 p.m.
