Strafford County commissioners move into non-public session to discuss personnel and contract negotiations

The Strafford County Board of County Commissioners on Thursday, May 21, 2026, voted to enter a non-public session to discuss personnel issues and contract negotiations, the Chair said.

The action came after the Chair asked the public whether there were comments related to the agenda; none were offered. The Chair then "entertained a motion moving in on public session for the purpose of discussing personnel issues and contract negotiation," and recorded that Commissioner Levitt moved the motion and Commissioner Feliciano seconded it.

In a roll call following the motion, Commissioner Feliciano voted yes and the Chair recorded a yes vote for themself. The Chair announced that the commission would retire to non-public session; no further public votes or decisions on personnel or contracts were announced during the public meeting.

Before the commission moved to the closed portion of the meeting, the Chair approved the minutes of the May 14 meeting and announced a series of county items, including a hands-on CPR training in support of the New Hampshire CPR Challenge in the cafeteria at 1:00 p.m. that day, a "Fondest Wish" golf tournament scheduled Tuesday, June 9 at Nochego Country Club, a CDBG grant application-related deadline or hold on Thursday, June 11, and a House of Corrections-related event involving the governor on Thursday, June 25.

The public portion of the meeting concluded with no public comments recorded and the commission retiring to a non-public session to address the stated personnel and contract matters.
