Banner County commissioners table Flyover Brewery special license, ask for security and tax details

The Banner County Board of Commissioners declined to approve a special designated liquor license for Flyover Brewery Company’s planned June 27 events and instead tabled the application until the June 2 meeting while staff and the applicant provide additional details.

During discussion commissioners and staff raised concerns about applicant outreach and local coordination. One commissioner asked whether events would “put up a border fence” and whether the applicant had plans for security to “monitor minors” and wristbands, noting that similar applications in other counties required the applicant to appear and lay out security plans. Board members also questioned how sales tax would be collected and whether revenue would be accounted for locally.

The board’s mover indicated he would withdraw the approval motion and asked staff to contact the applicant for clarifying information. A commissioner seconded that approach and the board agreed to move consideration of the special designated license to the June 2 agenda to allow time for the applicant to respond and for the sheriff and liquor commission timing questions to be resolved.

The item will return to the board with requested details, including the applicant’s security plan, property layout, whether the events will be on public or private property, and confirmation about tax collection and any required liquor‑commission filings. No license was granted at this meeting.
