Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District: retirements, recognitions and graduation logistics

Dr. Dana Minogue, superintendent of the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, used the monthly update to highlight several district announcements: Mental Health Awareness Month resources, staff recognitions, retirements and incoming principals, extracurricular achievements, and graduation logistics.
Minogue reminded students, staff and community members during Mental Health Awareness Month that "you are not alone" and urged the community to help erase the stigma around mental health. She also noted the district celebrated National School Principal's Day on May 1 and named two principals who will retire at the end of the school year: Northside Elementary principal Sila Zaroff and Sauk Trail Elementary principal Chris Dulk. Minogue introduced incoming elementary principals Kirsten Andrioni (Northside) and Josh Forehand (Sauk Trail).
The superintendent thanked PTOs and community members for supporting Teacher Appreciation Week, and recognized health services staff for National School Nurses Day on May 6 as well as speech-language pathologists who were celebrated on May 18. She also acknowledged the district's retirement dinner on May 21 that honored nearly two dozen retirees across roles, from principals to custodial staff.
On student achievements, Minogue spotlighted Pope Farm Elementary School's team winning the 2026 Scholastic Chess Championship, hosted at Sunset Ridge Elementary, and said Clark Street Community School was selected as a Full Scale Learning research site to model competency-based learning nationally.
Minogue provided logistics for graduation on Saturday, June 6 at the Alliant Energy Center: the ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., seniors should arrive at 12:45 p.m., caps and gowns are to be picked up Thursday, May 28, and graduation practice is scheduled for Friday, June 5 at 10 a.m. in the MHS Varsity Gym; the ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube.
Minogue closed the episode by inviting the community to review the district's Community Connection magazine and website for year highlights and graduation photos, and wished families a good summer.
