Wabasha County board approves $12,000 boost to SNAP employment-and-training contract

The Wabasha County Human Services Board on April 21 unanimously approved an amendment adding $12,000 in federal SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) funds to the county’s contract with Workforce Development, Inc. The amendment covers the period Oct. 1, 2025 through Sept. 30, 2026 and will support E&T services for Wabasha, Mower, Houston and Goodhue counties.
The board passed the resolution recorded as Res.2026 HS0018 and authorized the board chair and the social services director to execute the contract amendment on the county’s behalf. The funding increase was described in the resolution as 100% SNAP E&T funding and is limited to eligible program and administrative costs under federal and state rules.
The amendment leaves all other contract terms unchanged. The board adopted the measure without recorded objection.
