Jefferson County commissioners approve liquor license, vacate utility easements and adopt 2026 appointed-official salaries

At the Dec. 8 meeting, Commissioner David Christy presented a Cereal Malt Beverage license application for the Grantville C Store; the board voted to approve the license and authorized signature on behalf of the board.

The commission approved Resolution 2025-034, an order to vacate all platted utility easements on Lots 350, 351, 352, 369, 370 and 371 in Lakewood Hills Unit II. Commissioners also approved Resolution 2025-038, which sets the salaries of appointed county officials for 2026. In separate action, the board moved to table Resolution 2025-037 for one week; the minutes record the motion and unanimous support for the postponement.

During general comment and discussion, resident Melinda Guffey spoke about Lakeside Village and Lakeshore Estates and was invited to fill out a landbank application. Kim Gosa requested that the road between Miller and Condray be chip-sealed; a participant named Ben said he would consult Matt Williams from City Maintenance to explore coordination between county and city for next year. The board indicated it would follow up on the maintenance request.

Later in the meeting the board recessed into a 10-minute executive session to discuss attorney–client privileged matters and interagency issues, with County Counselor Jonathan Ehrlich present; the chair announced no binding action was taken during that session. The meeting adjourned with the next regular session set for Dec. 15, 2025.
