The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners handled a series of routine administrative and personnel matters at its April 27, 2026 meeting, including approving prior minutes and vouchers, authorizing travel, approving shared-leave requests, presenting service awards and holding two executive sessions.
The board approved the April 20, 2026 minutes and reviewed and approved vouchers. Commissioners approved a travel request for Appraiser Janet Allen and two colleagues to attend the KCAA 2026 Annual Business Conference in Pittsburg, Kansas. The board presented 10-year service awards to Amber Miller (Treasurer’s Department) and Jason Meyer (Road and Bridge). The board also approved a company credit card for John Faris at the Sheriff’s Department and two shared medical leave requests.
Commissioners approved two travel requests for Delia Heston: the Fidlar Technologies Annual Education Symposium in Rock Island, Illinois (May 17–20, 2026) and the Kansas Register of Deeds Annual Seminar in Colby, Kansas (June 8–12, 2026). The board recessed twice for attorney–client privileged executive sessions—one regarding Lakeside Village and another on interagency issues—and the chair announced that no binding action was taken in either session. With no further business, the board adjourned and scheduled its next regular meeting for Monday, May 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
