The Jefferson County Land Bank Board approved the sale of multiple Lakeside Village lots to Fr. Gabriel Karam at its April 27, 2026 session, after the commission temporarily reconvened as the land bank board to handle the matter.
Community Development Director Stephan Metzger said Fr. Karam submitted a letter clarifying his intentions for the lots he sought through the land bank. Metzger reported that three lots were dropped from the proposed acquisition—one because another buyer purchased it and two because of terrain issues. Commissioners approved the sale of lots 69–71, 241–243 and 454–456 at $500 per lot.
Commissioner Doug Walbridge moved to approve the sales and Commissioner Richard Malm seconded; the motion carried with all in favor. The board also authorized Commissioner David Christy to sign documents for lots 425–426 at Hickory Hills–Lakeside Village on the board’s behalf.
