Jefferson County approves sale of multiple land-bank lots

The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners, sitting as the Jefferson County Land Bank Board on May 11, 2026, approved a series of sales of vacant residential lots across county subdivisions.
The board unanimously approved the sale of Lot 11, Block J in Lake Shore Estates to Logan M. Moore for $1,000. Commissioners also approved the sale of six lots (37–42) in Lakeside Village to Nathan A. LaViolette for $3,000 ($500 per lot), and accepted a $2,000 bid for Lots 172 and 173 in Lakewood Hills to Gray Grantham ($1,000 per lot). The board approved sale of five more Lakeside Village lots (90, 91 and 117–119) to Steve and Kayla McLeod for $2,500.
Several other transfers were approved: Lot 205 in Lakewood Hills Unit 1 was sold to Mirrel Russell Blauvelt for $1,000, while Lot 204 was held pending a property-line survey. Levy and Audri Cantrell received Lots 473 and 474 in Lakewood Hills Unit III for $2,000; Riley McGrath purchased Lots 647 and 648 in Lakewood Hills Unit IV for $2,000; and Kevin and Shannon Colbern were approved to buy Lots 273, 274 and 468 for $3,000 total ($1,000 per lot) with a stated plan to construct a roughly 1,500-square-foot “barn dominium” with a two-car garage for eventual resale. Cynthia L. McDowell/Eisele was approved to purchase Lot 316 in Lakeside Village for $500 (intended for a new dwelling within one to two years). Kristin and Dillon Glenn were approved to acquire Lot 12 Block G, Lake Ridge Estates, for $2,000 as a yard extension.
The board also authorized the chairman to sign two previously approved quitclaim deeds. All land-bank motions were moved, seconded and approved by unanimous vote.
The commission then adjourned the Land Bank session and reconvened as the full Jefferson County Commission.
