Resident Ken Newman raised concerns about trash and structural conditions in Lakeshore Estates and Lakeside Village. Community Development Director Stephan Metzger presented a draft agreement and asked the board to authorize it to permit inspections of specified lots for structural and aesthetic conditions.
The agreement covers Lots 37–43, 62–68, 69–75 and 94–100 in Block T and authorizes participant entrance for the sole purpose of inspecting those properties. The county recorded the inspection permission to begin March 24, 2026, and to end April 30, 2026. The board approved the measure by motion: Commissioner David Christy moved to approve the agreement and sign on the board’s behalf; Commissioner Doug Walbridge seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes state the agreement is limited to inspection for structural and aesthetic conditions; it does not grant authority for cleanup or demolition work nor authorize spending. Metzger and county staff will handle follow‑up steps and any contracting or bidding that would be necessary for remediation.
The board’s action was recorded as a formal motion; no roll‑call counts beyond “all in favor” were logged in the minutes. The meeting continued to other agenda items after the vote.
