At its May 19 meeting, the East Grand Forks City Council approved several routine contracts and license renewals.
Sewer cleaning: The council awarded the city’s annual sewer‑cleaning work (areas 1 and 2 plus the additive alternate) to Pipe Detective Inc. for $136,336. The motion, moved by Ben Pukshvinski and seconded by Karen Peterson, passed on a roll call vote.
Arena lighting: Council approved an LED lighting replacement project at the VFW Memorial Arena to Eagle Electric for $37,868; the motion was moved by Karen Peterson and seconded by Tammy Schumacher and was approved on a roll call vote.
Liquor licenses: Council approved a set of on‑sale and off‑sale liquor license renewals for local businesses listed on the agenda, including Blue Moose Bar and Grill, Valley Golf Association, River Cinema 15, The Shire Bar and Grill, Mike’s Pizza and Pub, El Azteca of East Grand Forks, North Dale Oil Inc., Orton’s Point, Pops Liquor, Bernie’s Restaurant, the Eagles Aerie and the VFW post. Motions for the license items were moved and carried by roll call.
