Fluvanna supervisors approve $1,307 easement to bury power line at Pleasant Grove Park

The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors approved an underground utility easement with Central Virginia Electric Cooperative on May 6 to place the overhead power line that runs above the stage near the Pleasant Grove House under ground.
Chair Anthony O’Brien opened a public hearing on the easement; no members of the public spoke. County Attorney Dan Whitten told the board the county owns the parcel known as TM #30-A-1 (Pleasant Grove Park) and that the county will pay the $1,307 construction cost to move the line underground. The board approved the easement agreement by a 5-0 vote.
The board’s statement before the hearing noted the county’s recent joint FERC filing (Docket No. ER26-1563-001) but the easement discussion concerned only the localized work at Pleasant Grove Park.
