The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on May 6 to authorize a 2% salary bonus for constitutional officers and Compensation Board-funded employees and to appropriate $54,660.54 to fund the payments between June 1 and Sept. 30, 2026.
County Administrator Eric M. Dahl told the board the 2% bonus was approved by the 2026 Session of the General Assembly but requires board authorization to be paid locally. He said the Compensation Board will reimburse bonuses only for officers and employees who hold Compensation Board-funded positions on June 1, 2026.
The supplemental appropriation was based on projected funded positions and allocations by office: Sheriff — 22 positions funded for $26,950.16 and 5 E911 positions funded for $3,881.86; Commissioner of the Revenue — 5 positions funded for $3,698.32; Commonwealth’s Attorney — 4 positions funded for $7,594.71; Clerk of the Circuit Court — 6 positions funded for $8,600.34; Treasurer — 6 positions funded for $3,935.15. The board approved the appropriation and authorization to pay the bonuses (vote 5-0).
The board did not change the allocation schedule; Dahl noted the final reimbursed amounts could change if Compensation Board-funded positions change before June 1.
