Lake County planning staff announced on March 23 that they extended an offer to Rachel Pollock for a Planner I position and that she accepted. Staff said Pollock will graduate on May 8 and begin onboarding with Lake County on May 18.
"She accepted the offer on the spot," staff said, describing Pollock as enthusiastic and noting the hire will add capacity as the department advances the comprehensive plan and other permitting work. Staff also said they are developing a job description for a building professional to further expand department support.
Staff emphasized the hire in the context of several ongoing initiatives — code updates, moratorium work, e-permitting implementation and an action-team matrix for the comp plan — noting the addition should help with the department’s workload.
