The Chair said staff had previously indicated the Dutch John water treatment plant is anticipating substantial completion in the middle of February; Committee member Randy told the board he expects to finish the building's water connection on Saturday and that elevator work remains to be completed. Randy also raised parking-lot layout concerns that will require further calculations and mitigation to tie the lot into the adjacent park area.
A staff member described several modest change orders for the Health Business and Community Center. "We do have a couple small chambers in the works," the staff member said, and added there are directives for additional lights, a storage area and improved secure airflow. The staff member said additional storage discovered under the stairwell will be utilized and noted a change order is needed because "it has to have double FireX layers to make it a sealed storage space." The staff member characterized these changes as relatively small and future-looking.
The Chair and staff also discussed scheduling: the board noted a construction meeting for the Health Business and Community Center on Thursday at 10 a.m., and staff cautioned that water will be turned off in the building every Saturday during ongoing work, so no meetings should be scheduled then.
No formal votes were taken on these project updates; the board’s project-related decisions at the meeting were limited to procurement and invoice approvals recorded elsewhere in the agenda.
