The superintendent asked the board to reserve time at an upcoming meeting to review an EB bus study the district recently received and said a July meeting would be used to discuss that analysis. The superintendent also said the district will circulate resources about a proposed turf field and plans to discuss the turf-field materials at one of the June meetings.
The superintendent reminded the board that the NISBA (New York State School Boards Association) conference will be held in Buffalo Oct. 22–24 (dates provided in the meeting) and previewed the June 3 retiree recognition and tenure acknowledgements; because of anticipated attendance, the superintendent said the district may move the ceremony into the auditorium.
Policy committee and study-committee updates immediately followed. The policy committee reported first readings of several policies (acceptable use and student directory information among them); those were first readings only and no board action was taken during the meeting. The ex officio student member reported Eco Campus and courtyard cleanup activities, sapling plantings and athletic signing updates.
The superintendent thanked the community for voter turnout on district propositions and closed the report.
