St John Waterworks approves engineering addendum, equipment purchases and two warrants totaling about $3.87M

The Waterworks Board approved several procurement and contract items at the May 20 meeting.

Chair presented Robinson Engineering’s add to Task Order 23-2 for construction engineering on the Kilkenny altitude valve in an amount not to exceed $32,500, bringing the total project engineering cap to $40,000. Dave Schilling said the scope changed "significantly from a vault to a building," which drove the additional engineering scope; the board approved the addendum by a 5-0 voice vote.

The board also approved three purchase requests totaling $74,608.92: a sidewalk and driveway replacement from Lambert Concrete ($8,704.92) tied to a leak-related repair; installation of a customer-provided diesel generator at Well 4 by Austin Electric ($19,164); and a replacement Caterpillar 150-kW diesel generator set from Ultifier Cat ($51,740) for Well 4. Town staff explained the driveway/sidewalk work was advanced promptly to restore a resident’s driveway after leak-related damage.

Two accounts-payable warrants were approved: one dated 05/20/2026 for $3,038,721.88 covering payroll, supplies, services and equipment for the water district, and a second warrant for $834,451.90 covering water-utility claims. A board member asked whether a Ferguson purchase on the claims list would be split between water and wastewater; staff confirmed the split. Both warrants were approved by voice vote, 5-0.

No contested votes or recusals were recorded. The approvals allow staff to proceed with the purchases and for Robinson to continue construction engineering work on the Kilkenny project.
