Under the agreement, Pittsburg County is responsible for initiating detention authorizations, providing necessary court orders for admission and release, arranging transport (except emergency medical transport handled by Canadian County), and reimbursing medical expenses for detained juveniles. The agreement specifies intake screening requirements and that admissions are subject to bed availability. It also requires that Canadian County be given relevant medical and case information when juveniles are referred.
Commissioners approved the contract by motion and unanimous vote. The contract will be filed with the county clerk and county staff will follow reporting and billing provisions.
