The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council voted May 19 to confirm and record a special assessment to recover city nuisance-abatement costs for the property at 2064 Galleria Drive.
Code enforcement officer Bridal Pena reported that, after extended enforcement activity dating to 2022 and multiple attempts at voluntary compliance, the city obtained an abatement warrant and completed abatement work in coordination with contractor Ocean Blue and Lomita Station deputies in January 2026. Staff presented before-and-after photos and recommended a lien in the amount of $22,249.65 to recover the city's costs.
Council adopted the resolution and directed staff to record appropriate notices of lien with the Los Angeles County Recorder and to submit the confirmed abatement amount to the Los Angeles County Auditor-Controller for collection in the next applicable tax roll year.
The council's action formalizes cost recovery for work the city says was necessary to address unpermitted construction, inoperable vehicles and property-maintenance violations at the subject property.
